Welcome to Kensho Karate Dojo — a friendly and inclusive Shotokan Karate club located in the heart of Team Valley, Gateshead. Since our establishment in 2003 by Sensei Lee Lamb, Kensho has grown into one of the North East’s leading martial arts institutions, delivering high-quality instruction to students of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds.

At Kensho, we combine traditional Shotokan Karate with modern approaches to fitness, conditioning, and personal development. Our comprehensive training programs are designed to support each student's journey — whether they’re looking to build confidence, improve fitness, or compete at the highest levels. Over the years, our students have gone on to achieve remarkable success, earning medals and titles at both national and international competitions.
